Polarise Expands into Central Europe, Reserving Capacity at CRA’s Prague Gateway Data Centre

The cooperation with Czech infrastructure provider České Radiokomunikace (CRA) marks the first concrete site partner in Polarise’s growing European network of AI-ready locations.

Düsseldorf, September 9, 2026 – Polarise, an European provider of sovereign AI cloud infrastructure, and České Radiokomunikace (CRA) have signed a Letter of Intent under which Polarise reserves 15 MW of capacity at CRA’s new Prague Gateway data centre in Jíloviště near Prague as well as secures exclusivity for further expansion. The agreement marks Polarise’s expansion into Central Europe and secures the capacity Polarise needs to build sovereign AI compute for its customers in the European AI cloud market.

Prague Gateway is a purpose-built, high-density AI data centre designed for liquid-cooled infrastructure and ready for current and upcoming GPU generations. The facility is expected to be ready for service in mid-2027 and is planned across several build-out phases with further power and expansion potential. Under the cooperation, CRA acts as the local infrastructure and connectivity partner, while Polarise operates the sovereign AI infrastructure and cloud running on the reserved capacity. The foundation is Polarise’s AI Pod concept, in which small, standardized data center units are integrated into an existing infrastructure. Polarise has already successfully implemented this approach in Oslo and Munich, thereby building what was then Germany’s largest AI factory on an industrial scale in record time.

Building a European network of AI-ready sites

With the Prague Gateway data centre, Polarise adds another node to its decentralised European network, linking smaller AI factories with typically 15 to 50 MW into a single grid that can shift workloads between sites. Rather than concentrating capacity in one central location, the grid scales node by node, which improves resilience and shortens time-to-market.

The cooperation goes beyond the Prague Gateway reservation. Polarise and CRA are also preparing joint steps within a wider European AI infrastructure agenda, including potential involvement in gigafactory-type projects under the EU’s AI Gigafactory initiative. The specific form will be defined following talks within the relevant consortium. Polarise remains open to different consortia and partners and holds no overarching exclusivity with any single party. 

At the same time, Polarise brings its own advanced, self-developed sites. In the greater Augsburg area, Polarise’s Amberg (Unterallgäu) AI factory is designed for an initial 65 MW, scalable to 120 MW, is due to go live in mid-2027 and will be powered largely by on-site renewable energy – solar, wind and battery storage on the former Wertachtal transmitter site. It builds on the proven delivery model behind Polarise’s Munich AI Hub in Tucherpark, taken from concept to commissioning in around six months and hosting up to 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, with waste heat feeding the neighbouring district’s heating network. Together with a second Munich site currently under development, these locations combine the power availability, AI-readiness and fast time-to-market that make them strong potential gigafactory candidates.
